Donated to raise relief funds for Hurricane Sandy, Ian and Gregory gave new purpose to some fallen trees near Fort Standard’s HQ in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Armed with chainsaws they cut away at the trees creating geometric stools which were then painted storm inspired colors.

When Wallpaper magazine asked Fort Standard to design a piece for their Handmade Exhibition in Milan during Salone Del Mobile, they set out to design a survival kit with the intention of creating something which looked and felt as precious as its contents. The design became largely about the packaging as it needed to be serious, yet beautiful; an object you could easily bring with you on a day hike or even keep in your car or boat but most importantly an object you would WANT to bring with you everywhere.

Designed by Fort Standard for 1882, Standard Ware is a series of faceted fine bone china tumblers. Produced in Stoke-On-Trent in England, the tumblers employ three fractal segments to translate the form from 10 wide flats at the bottom to 40 flats at the lip creating a rounder more pleasant drinking experience.

Fort Standard had the pleasure of designing Steven Alan’s first Home store located at 158 Franklin Street in Tribeca, New York. Custom freestanding fixtures and furniture allow the elements to be moved around to accommodate an ever changing assortment of home goods and furniture for sale. The soft round features of the White Oak table tops and dowel legs create an inviting yet modern shopping experience while elevating the product on a warm material palate.

Cast in solid Brass to endure the test of time, these graphically bold bottle openers are designed to use a minimal amount of material. Perfect to hang in the kitchen or keep displayed on a table, they are as handsome as they are functional.

Faceted turned Walnut coat hooks come in three different sizes which all have the same depth but vary in diameter.
